Ecclesiastes 3:9-13
9 What profit has the worker from that in which he labors? 10 I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. 12 I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, 13 and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God.

TIME
Time is the one thing we never have enough of.
Time always seems to be slipping through our fingers.
It can seem as though we can never really be content with what we have done with our lives. We set goals to reach, and when we do it's like there is just one more thing to achieve next. Our families grow up right in front of our eyes in what seems like a moment. We are constantly faced with choices where the wrong one can set you back financially for years. In this life it can feel like our time is spent grasping but never really laying hold to anything. I believe God wants us to be at peace with how we spend our time on this earth. He has given us steps that if followed, will allow us to look back on a life that says,” I toiled for heaven!”
To achieve this we must put our hands to The God Given Task
THE GOD GIVEN TASK
The God Given Task is found in Matthew 28:18-20
18And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
We are called to this purpose, but to get to a place where this becomes our focus we must first take a few steps.
Of course faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior is the only first step in not only going to heaven but for any real spiritual growth. Assuming we are all believers in Jesus, (if not please read no further and press the phone button in the website’s menu which will put you on a phone call with me) there are steps we can take to, “Seize The Time.”
1 . Seize the start of your day
Psalm 63:1 says “O God you are my God, early I will seek you…”
We must begin to give God the first fruits of our day. Too many of us allow other things to occupy the start of our day and then wonder why we don't feel God like we want to. James says “draw near to the lord and he will draw near to you,(James 4:8).”
As we begin to have God filled mornings we will progress to God filled days, which will progress to a God filled lifestyle.
Seizing time and making the most out of it starts with seizing the first moments of the day!
Our day should begin with focusing on God’s voice. We do that through going to his word before anything else at the start of our day. This may require waking up earlier than usual. We go to him in prayer over what we have read that morning. We worship him before leaving for work every day. Our slogan in the ministry is #TURNGODUP, we cant allow our busy life to become louder than God!
2 Seize Your Family Time
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
This verse is often quoted but not practiced. This verse shows both parents working together to train their family in the ways of God. Within this verse you see an entire family submitted to God. Herein is the lifestyle of prayer, worship, devotion and study of God's word as a team. Your family as a whole should be a force for the Kingdom Of God. As we begin to spend time achieving this kind of family we will have great peace about how we spent the ever alluding time with our spouse and children!
Step one is the key to seeing your family submitted to God. How can we lead them where we aren’t going ourselves?
We only have one shot with our family to lead them to God, don’t squander it!!
3 Seize your life’s work
2 peter 1 5But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
As we begin to seize the time in these areas we will notice a shift in our concept of time. We will no longer view our time as something that is out running us. When we have submitted ourselves to God and his ways we can have peace and know that we have done with our time what it was intended for, to glorify God in all that we do!
When we have applied these steps to our life we will find ourselves standing in the great commission as the words of our Lord Jesus become our passion and desire, and we say, “less of me lord, and more of you!”
